Dr South enjoys the complexity and wide range of presentations that comes with General Practice as a specialty.
Dr South studied Science and the Arts before completing her medical training at the University of Queensland in Brisbane. She enjoys the complexity and wide range of presentations that comes with General Practice as a speciality.
From antenatal care to paediatrics, and later adolescent health challenges, the continuity of care is something she finds rewarding. She looks forward to knowing all her patients well, and finds listening to the stories of her patients a unique privilege. The better understanding of the individual that comes from this allows both doctor and patient to work better together to achieve good health outcomes as well as being able to support and guide her patients through challenging times too. Dr South is enjoys seeing all patients including those with chronic diseases or older adults needing specific health care.
Dr South is a mother to two young children and on her days off loves spending time with family where they get outdoors to parklands and beaches. Professionally, she continues to attend regular medical updates and conferences with the most recent being for parenting/family health, and antenatal care.
