Dr Dilip Dhupelia

Dr Dilip Dhupelia is a highly experienced GP who is passionate about providing comprehensive, patient-centred healthcare to individuals and families. He values building long-term relationships with his patients and supporting them through all stages of life with compassionate, evidence-based care.

Dr Dhupelia works part-time at SmartClinics Toowong, where he enjoys helping patients manage both their immediate health concerns and long-term wellbeing. His clinical interests include family medicine, adolescent health, sexual health, travel medicine, chronic disease management and aged care.

Dr Dhupelia obtained his medical degree in Dublin, Ireland, in 1976 before emigrating to Australia in 1977. Over a distinguished career spanning almost five decades, he has combined clinical practice with significant contributions to medical leadership, education and healthcare governance.

He currently serves as Director of Medical and Clinical Services at Queensland Country Practice within Darling Downs Health. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in training and mentoring the next generation of doctors as a medical educator and supervisor.

Dr Dhupelia has held numerous leadership positions within the Australian medical profession, including serving as State President of the Australian Medical Association Queensland from 2018 to 2020. He currently serves as a Director of the Brisbane South Primary Health Network Board.
