Dr Anmar Aydami is an experienced family doctor seeing patients in Taigum. He is skilled in a wide range of health care areas but has a special interest in asthma, cardiovascular risk assessment, interpretation of coronary calcium scores, diabetes, chronic diseases, contraception, family planning, men’s health, skin checks and travel medicine.  Dr Aydami believes that the broad continuum of General Practice unveils skill sets from a wide range of different disciplines, which is what he enjoys most about being a GP.  Dr Aydami feels that having integrity, empathy and problem solving are key to being a great doctor. Dr Atul Sehgal completed his Undergraduate Degree in Medicine (MBBS) in Punjab, India, before moving to South Africa to finish his Post Graduate Training in General Surgery.

He was training to be a Paediatric Surgeon when he moved to Australia in 2003 and worked in multiple rural and tertiary level hospitals in general surgery, mental health, emergency medicine, child health, internal medicine and cardiology.

Dr Sehgal’s extensive experience working in various fields of study in Australia helped him tremendously when he moved to General Practice to obtain his Fellowships with Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and Australian College of Rural And Remote Medicine (FACRRM, Advanced Specialised Training in Mental Health – ACRRM).

Dr Sharujan Sivasubramaniam (also known as Dr SJ) sees patient in Annerley.

Dr SJ grew up in Northern Queensland and studied medicine at James Cook University. He then completed his fellowship in General Practice with advanced training in Sports Medicine. He is currently a Club Doctor for Brisbane Roar Football and South Logan Magpies Rugby and an Assistant Doctor for the NQ Cowboys.

Dr Farzana has a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery and is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, with 10 years’ experience working in an ATSI health service, so is well versed with the care of our First Nation’s people.

She has a wealth of knowledge in Child & Maternal Health, including Implanon insertion, family planning and pregnancy and menopausal health and management.

Her specialties include most aspects of family medicine and extend to chronic disease & prevention management, including diabetes, asthma, and mental health.

Dr Alice McNab is a Brisbane local with a diverse back ground in both General Practice and working in numerous rural hospitals in both Queensland and the Northern Territory during which time Dr McNab held numerous Emergency Department management positions.

Dr Kaila obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia, Canada. She completed her medical degree at the University of Sydney. She has trained in NSW and Queensland as a junior doctor. Dr Kaila did her General Practice specialist training in Townsville. She enjoys general practice work as it is challenging and diverse. Dr Kaila enjoys all aspects of General Practice. Her areas of special interest are varied: paediatrics, women’s health and antenatal care, preventative health care, chronic disease management and skin cancer treatment. Dr Kaila has a strong focus on preventative health and health education. She strongly believes in empowering patients to improve their health and wellbeing. Dr Kaila aims to provide effective evidence based medical management.

Dr Dean made the move to Australia after completing his medical training in Cardiff, Wales over 10 years ago. He recently completed his general practice training and is excited to provide healthcare to our lovely SmartClinics Windsor Patients. Dr Adit is enthusiastic in all areas of general practices and has worked in Rural and Aboriginal communities. Dean also has a special interest in Skin Cancer Medicine with having performed many skin cancer excisions in previous jobs.

Dr Janaka Abeysirigunawardana obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the Donetsk State Medical University in Russia in 1991.

After moving to Australia he then completed his Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2011.

Dr Abeysirigunawardana is passionate about providing high quality healthcare and has a special interest in family health, chronic disease management and heart health.

Dr Francis Yeung is keen on working together with patients to provide holistic care.  Born in North Queensland, he did his training at James Cook University in Townsville before moving to Brisbane. Having already had 8 years’ experience in hospital medicine, mainly focused on Emergency and Critical Care, Francis is looking to further compliment his knowledge and skills by working towards fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

When not at work, he is a keen gamer, pottery enthusiast and loves spending time with his partner and pug.

Dr Evangeline Capuano is a GP Registrar in Annandale. Dr Evangeline is the new GP registrar that has joined the amazing team at SmartClinics Annandale. A local graduate, Dr Capuano has been in the Townsville region for the past decade and spent several years working at the Townsville Hospital. Dr Mark has an extensive experience working in rural and remote Australia as well as international experience including positions in PNG, Laos and China.  His medical interests include chronic disease management and mental health issues.

He also has a special interest in the area of Lifestyle Medicine which includes prevention, management and treatment (including patient self-treatment) of a range of conditions that result from factors including: poor diet / nutrition, physical inactivity, smoking, alcohol overconsumption, chronic stress / anxiety, lack of connection etc.

Dr Mark is a private billing GP and has a strict policy of not prescribing opiates, benzodiazepines or other drugs with potential of abuse / addiction.

Dr Harry has been a doctor since graduating from the University of Queensland in 2012. Dr Harry enjoys all aspects of General Practice with a particular interest in Chronic Disease management, skin cancer medicine and Men’s health.

Dr Harry has recently moved back to Brisbane after spending the last few years working in the Sunshine Coast. He is looking forward to exploring Brisbane again with his young family.

Dr. Susan Swanston is a highly skilled GP currently working in Cairns and has done for several years. She has a vast experience in many fields of medicine and is a fully trained and qualified vascular surgeon.

Dr Susan has many other qualifications in General Practice above and beyond the expected including Aviation Medicine, Travel Medicine, Mirena IUD insertions and her ambition to expand her cosmetic vein therapies including spider vein treatment.

Dr Susan has a loyal and expansive following of patients and she manages to balance this with her role as a wife and mother of 3 children.  Dr Susan’s passion outside medicine and her family are her horses and riding.
