SmartClinics National Support Centre team is comprised of savvy entrepreneurs and industry experts which brings years of experience to a young company.  They cultivate our strong culture, and work tirelessly to help our Group continue to grow throughout South East Queensland, without compromising the high quality healthcare currently provided by all SmartClinics centres.

Steven Dahl – Chief Executive Officer

In 2011 Steven Dahl founded SmartClinics with a vision of making everyday healthcare easier by reducing wait times and improving convenience and accessibility.

Being the father of two sons and a daughter, Steven has experienced first hand how difficult it can be to not only make an appointment with a GP, but then how long you have to wait to get in an see them at the clinic. With his past experience in creating businesses that innovate in traditional industries Steven started SmartClinics with a fresh perspective. Using his business experience and leveraging technology to improve processes, SmartClinics has ambitious growth plans.

Steven loves working with the SmartClinics team to challenge the status quo in primary healthcare and to offer a valued service to patients.

Ben Howat– Chief Operating Officer

Ben has recently joined the SmartClinics team in the position of Chief Operating Officer.  He is a highly adaptable leader who strongly believes in empowering team members to own the functions and responsibilities of their roles and then trusts them to deliver results.  Ben is looking forward to meeting and working with the whole SmartClinics team and its stakeholders to deliver great outcomes for all clinics across the network.

Tracey McNeil – Project Manager & Improvement Leader

Tracey joined SmartClinics National Support Centre in January, 2018 bringing with her 15 years of business and project management experience.
    Her past experience has seen her coordinate all moving parts to bring domestic and international business events together; planning key note speakers, welcome parties, business and team sessions, executive lunches, social events, gala dinners and fun team challenges; whilst also being the key contact for stakeholders and managing the budget allocated to the events.
    More recently; Tracey held a National Business Manager role; leading a Project Management Office and a team of project coordinators.  In that time; Tracey coordinated the delivery of projects within three major research programs, provided program level and divisional analysis, implemented the company-wide project management method, maintained a strong relationship with key stakeholders and managed an array of internal operational projects to budget, quality, time and customer service requirements.
    Tracey enjoys that her diverse role at SmartClinics.  She manages a number of our sub-contractors, plans events and coordinates our projects.  The favourite part of her role is working alongside the fabulous staff with the Medical Centres and implementing positive changes that brings efficiencies to the teams so in turn, they can focus on offering high quality service and healthcare to our valued patients.
Sarita Fruk

Sarita Fruk – Marketing Manager

Sarita has over 13 years marketing experience across a range of industries, including healthcare where she worked as a Senior Marketing Specialist for four years at Queensland Fertility Group.

Sarita has extensive experience in brand development and an eye for sales and marketing campaigns that deliver tangible results and contribute to the bottom line.

James Tibbetts – GP Recruitment Manager

James rejoins the SmartClinics team after previously providing marketing, graphic design and promotional support to all 33 clinics across the network.  He now connects GP’s to the SmartClinics network – especially those who have to relocate from interstate or overseas.  He fully understands the challenges relocating can bring after serving as a police officer for almost 20 years and having to relocate (sometimes with family) 11 times across multiple rural and metropolitan locations throughout his career.

Not only will he help connect a GP to the right clinic, he will also assist their families too, making sure they settle and keep the transition from clinic to clinic as smooth as possible.  Couple this with his design and marketing skills, James will personally oversee the development of marketing collateral and promotional activities well in advance of a GP’s arrival.

Jo Whare – National Operations Manager

Jo oversees the operations at a number of SmartClinics locations throughout Australia and has been in the medical industry for over 15 years. She is dedicated to meeting the needs of the doctors, staff and clinics she works with daily.

Jo has held senior management positions in the medical industry and related industries, and has enjoyed success shared with colleagues over her career. Jo consistently reaches and exceeded outcomes through the management of high-performance teams and individuals, as well as displaying a commitment to her own professional development and growth. Jo has enormous passion about working with teams to pursue quality service for clients.

Andrew Edmunds – Quality Assurance Manager

Andy is the newest member to the SmartClinics team and is joining us in the role of Quality Assurance Manager.  This sees him with the main role of working within the Operations Team – assisting the support of our Practices through continuous improvement of service provision. One of the key projects he is undertaking will be to understand the needs of each location before rolling out structured learning & development programs.

In his previous roles, Andy has had a strong focus on team building, staff learning and service training. He has experience in healthcare, corporate sales, memberships partnerships in sport, team management in health and fitness and small business start-up. His focus has always been on how to build and maintain positive professional relationships and enable others to perform.

Mariam Kalanzi – People, Performance & Culture Officer

Mariam is from Uganda and has been with SmartClinics for over two years. She has completed a Bachelor of Business and a Masters of Human Resources Management at Griffith University with experience in the healthcare sector. Mariam assists in the smooth transition of acquired clinics (Pre/post acquisition support) and overall day to day HR/Operations of SmartClinics’ centres.

Marsha Daskalakis – Payroll Manager

Marsha has recently joined the SmartClinics team as the Payroll Manager.   Having to work with numerous awards and penalties, she is also very aware of the complexities that working within the health industry brings and is always happy to assist our team members with questions which relate to their pay.

Lisa O'Connor – Financial Accountant

Lisa joins the SmartClinics team after previously working in both Australia and New Zealand as a bookkeeper.  She assists the finance team daily in areas such as ledgers, debtors and doctor pays.
