SmartClinics National Support Centre team is comprised of savvy entrepreneurs and industry experts that brings years of professional experience together into such a young company.  They cultivate a strong culture, and work tirelessly to help our Group continue to grow throughout South East Queensland, without compromising the high quality healthcare currently provided by all SmartClinics centres. SmartClinics National Support Centre is located at Unit 2/423 Nudgee Road, Hendra.


Ben Howat– Chief Operating Officer

Ben has recently joined the SmartClinics team in the position of Chief Operating Officer.  He is a highly adaptable leader who strongly believes in empowering team members to own the functions and responsibilities of their roles and then trusts them to deliver results.  Ben is looking forward to meeting and working with the whole SmartClinics team and its stakeholders to deliver great outcomes for all clinics across the network.


Tracey McNeil – Head of Support Services

Tracey joined SmartClinics National Support Centre in January, 2018 bringing with her 15 years of business and project management experience.
Her past experience has seen her coordinate all moving parts to bring domestic and international business events together; planning key note speakers, welcome parties, business and team sessions, executive lunches, social events, gala dinners and fun team challenges; whilst also being the key contact for stakeholders and managing the budget allocated to the events.
More recently; Tracey held a National Business Manager role; leading a Project Management Office and a team of project coordinators.  In that time; Tracey coordinated the delivery of projects within three major research programs, provided program level and divisional analysis, implemented the company-wide project management method, maintained a strong relationship with key stakeholders and managed an array of internal operational projects to budget, quality, time and customer service requirements.
Tracey enjoys that her diverse role at SmartClinics.  She manages a number of our sub-contractors, plans events and coordinates our projects.  The favourite part of her role is working alongside the fabulous staff with the Medical Centres and implementing positive changes that brings efficiencies to the teams so in turn, they can focus on offering high quality service and healthcare to our valued patients.
Sarita Fruk

Sarita Fruk – Marketing Manager

Sarita has over 14 years marketing experience across a range of industries, including nine years in the healthcare space. Sarita has significant experience in B2C large scale customer-centric organisations, leading teams in developing and delivering cutting edge marketing programs with an ability to transform customer experience and drive innovation.

Sarita has played a key role in SmartClinics’ brand development and has an eye for marketing and communication campaigns that deliver tangible results and contribute to the bottom line.

Mariam Kalanzi – People, Performance & Culture Officer

Mariam is from Uganda and has been with SmartClinics for over two years. She has completed a Bachelor of Business and a Masters of Human Resources Management at Griffith University with experience in the healthcare sector. Mariam assists in the smooth transition of acquired clinics (Pre/post acquisition support) and overall day to day HR/Operations of SmartClinics’ centres.

James Tibbetts – Corporate Relationships Manager

SmartClinics’ has a dedicated Corporate Relationships Manager, James Tibbetts, who has the key role identifying new corporate opportunities whilst also maintaining the current business relationships with all stakeholders across the entire SmartClinics network of medical centres.



Simone Wheeler – Head of Operations

Simone has recently joined SmartClinics after working many years in the medical industry and will be assisting a number of our practices with their day to day running.

Jo Whare – Operations Manager

Jo oversees the operations at a number of SmartClinics locations throughout Australia and has been in the medical industry for over 15 years. She is dedicated to meeting the needs of the doctors, staff and clinics she works with daily.

Jo has held senior management positions in the medical industry and related industries, and has enjoyed success shared with colleagues over her career. Jo consistently reaches and exceeded outcomes through the management of high-performance teams and individuals, as well as displaying a commitment to her own professional development and growth. Jo has enormous passion about working with teams to pursue quality service for clients.

Vicky Chong-Nee – Operations Manager

Vicky looks forward to overseeing the daily interactions of her clinics and ensuring that all visitors have a wonderful patient experience.

Suzy Sawdon-McDonald – Operations Manager

Suzy has been with SmartClinics for a number of years and was formerly a practice manager before undertaking the role of operations manager.


Angie Farrell – Head of Clinical Relationships

Angie has recently joined the SmartClinics and is responsible for managing the ongoing GP recruitment needs across the network of clinics.

Brenda Vonortas – GP Recruitment Specialist

Brenda is a high level executive assistant professional with over 12 years experience working in General Practice and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in placing Doctors – in particular Registrars –  to identify and relocate to their ideal practice locations throughout Queensland.  She has an extensive background in vocational medical education and training across the Accreditation and Quality framework.


Terry Hessey – Financial Controller

Tom has recently joined the team at SmartClinics National Support Centre

Marsha Daskalakis – Payroll Manager

In her role as Payroll Manager, Marsha oversees arguably the most important job of all – ensuring the  SmartClinics team gets paid!   Her knowledge of the medical industry and the numerous awards and penalties associated is second to none and she is always happy to assist any of our team members with questions or queries relating to their remuneration or entitlements.

Lisa O'Connor – Financial Accountant

Lisa joins the SmartClinics team after previously working in both Australia and New Zealand as a bookkeeper.  She assists the finance team daily in areas such as ledgers, debtors and doctor pays.

Wil Endres – Accounts Payable

With the responsibility of ensuring that all of our suppliers are paid correctly and on time, Wil has now joined the the SmartClinics National Support Centre in the Accounts Payable role.  She comes to SmartClinics with numerous years of experience in the finance industry which has been mostly gained during her placements in education institutions.  Whilst she may be new to the medical scene, Wil looks forward to talking and working with all our suppliers as required.


Ben Wang - Head of Information Technology

Ben is responsible for of SmartClinics’ Communication and Information Technology needs across our network of Family Medical Centres.   Keeping all of our GP’s and medical staff up-to-date with their data needs is his specialty and Ben enjoys getting out an about throughout all the clinics with his team to help them with their IT needs.

James works with our network of medical clinics to help keep them connected to our patients and safely recording their medical data.
