When you’re unwell, leaving the comfort of your home to see a GP can be a real effort. Luckily, all you need is a phone as many SmartClinics Doctors are offering GP phone consultations so you can get advice, treatment or a referral, medical certificate or a script without leaving home.

What does it cost?

From 1st October 2020, bulk billing for Telehealth is at the discretion of your Doctor.  SmartClinics Ipswich Doctors offer bulk billed telehealth appointments. At other clinics, a fee may apply.  Please contact your local SmartClinics location if you want to know if a fee will apply.  Click here for a list of our medical centre locations.

How to book a telehealth appointment

If you are a NEW patient, please call your preferred SmartClinics Medical Centre to make your booking.  Click here for a list of our medical centre locations. If you are an existing patient, you can book your telehealth appointment by calling the clinic directly, or book online by following the steps below…

1. Click the pink booking button below

You’ll be forwarded to our online booking page where you can choose your location. Click the suburb to book online or call your clinic directly.

2. Select the Doctor that you want to talk to

Next, choose which GP you want to call you back to see available appointment times.

3. Choose your preferred appointment time

Choose the best time for your Doctor to call you back.

4. Talk to your GP

Your Doctor will call you. If a script is required, it’ll be faxed, emailed or posted to you or your preferred pharmacy.

When is Telehealth not suitable?

Please note not all GP appointments are suitable for a telehealth consultations. This is at your doctor’s discretion.  Telehealth is not suitable for you if you are:

  • A new patient who wants a telehealth appointment
  • A new patients seeking new medication
  • Skin checks and minor procedures
  • We do not currently offer video calls
