Dr Abid Vatani

Dr Vatani obtained her medical degree from Aarhus University in Denmark, completed her medical training in Denmark and Australia and gained fellowship of RACGP in Townsville.

She works as a surgical assistant in obstetric and gynaecological operating theatre every week.

Her special interests are:

• Women’s Health including:
  • Contraception (birth control) including Mirena & Implanon insertion/removal.
  • Antenatal & post-natal care, including GP shared care.
  • Cervical screening test (previously called pap smear), managing endometriosis, menopausal symptoms, heavy or painful periods.
• Travel advice and immunisation including Yellow Fever vaccination
• Q-fever screening and vaccination
• Acute conditions based on Dr Vatani’s extensive experience working in Emergency Departments in Queensland
• Preventative healthcare including weight management.

Dr Vatani is happy to see urgent or new patients.
